| In 1743, the son of Major John Boone planted oak trees in two evenly spaced rows at the entrance of Boone Hall Plantation. The branches over a period of two centuries eventually draped to meet overhead which gives the plantation entrance a look that attracts tourists from all over the world. This look was patterned in the movie Gone With The Wind. |
