Dear Frank,
My name is Patricia Poole Elder.  My father, James Lesley Poole, was killed in a fire aboard the USS Searcher on November 13, 1955.  I was very touched to see the Memorial Page you created to honor the memory of my dad and the three others that gave their lives that day to save the ship and their shipmates.  I am attaching a picture of him in hopes that you will add it to the your website.
If you happen to know anyone that served with my dad during this time, I would love to talk to them.  Feel free to forward my email address to them.
Thank you again for honoring the memory and service of my dad in such a special way and thank you for your service to our country.  I, for one, do not take it for granted.

Sincerely,
 Patte :0)

For all YAGR'S members, I have provided some details on my Searcher site to describe the events that took 4 lives
in the engine room fire on Nov. 13, 1955.  You can view this on the Searcher website on
http://www.classypages.com/searcher/index.html. There is a link to the memorial page and links listing ship's logs,
newspaper articles and other documentation describing the terrible accident.  If there are any Searcher members who knew Chief James Poole please contact his daughter Patte at the email listed above.

THANKS first, to Harry Miller who got this organization launched in the first place. Thanks second to those to whom he handed off the task and for the outstanding job you all are performing. The website is spectacular, especially this great, searchable log with it's stories and link to old shipmates. I'm sure I will be back again for some Navy memories and will make a point of submitting some pictures taken aboard GR-6 in 1958-1960.
