My name is Patricia Poole Elder. My father, James Lesley Poole, was killed in a fire aboard the USS Searcher on November 13, 1955. I was very touched to see the Memorial Page you created to honor the memory of my dad and the three others that gave their lives that day to save the ship and their shipmates. I am attaching a picture of him in hopes that you will add it to the your website.

If you happen to know anyone that served with my dad during this time, I would love to talk to them. Feel free to forward my email address to them.

I was married in September 1962 and reported back for our next cruise when the Cuban Missile Crises erupted. Needless to say my new wife was out of her mind due to the crises.

Comments:       I was a Navigator on a C-118 out of McGuire AFB in New Jersey. I flew the Atlantic many times and when we flew near an Ocean Station, always contacted them. I always felt safer knowing they were out there. Thanks to all the men who served on these ships.
