BUILDING THE EXHIBIT
RADAR DISPLAY
History Of Radar Display. The Battleship Massachusetts had 6 free standing displays in storage that dealt with the history of radar that were offered to us for use in our exhibit. With various repairs, the lighting replaced and a lot of clean up, the units were ready to be installed in our exhibit area. The schedule called for painting the compartment before we installed the radar displays. But, cold weather (the compartment did not have heat) set back the painting of the compartment. It was then decided we would build the new bases and supports for the units, install the units, then tear them down and reinstall the displays once the painting was done. As it worked out, this proved to be the right decision, as the painting took longer than figured to complete. So, in the end, when all was said and done, even with the extra erection time, it did not set us back on our schedule. |
